Vravrona is an ancient town built close to the sea. The town was a holy place and had one of the most important temples in the Athenian state, the temple of Artemis, the Goddess of hunting and animals. Near the temple, in a field full of nature, there is also a museum to accommodate the ancient findings.

When the Persians and Greeks were at war, the Persian army launched an attack that the Athenians defended on the Coast of Marathon. Today, the battlefield and the ancient tomb of the warriors are open to the public. Furthermore, there is a museum in the area. It is worth mentioning that the Marathon run happens to honor the warrior Pheidippides, who gave his life by running into the city to transfer the victorious message of that battle!
Tailor’s Colossus, Porto Rafti
![Tailor’s Colossus, Porto Rafti](https://www.eastatticaactivities.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Porto-Rafti-kolossos-4.webp)
In the bay of Porto Rafti, there is a tall pyramid-like island. On top of it, there is a headless marble statue, watching the distant seas. The residents say that the statue depicts a seated tailor (even though scientists believe that it is a Goddess). The myth continues to this day, and the monument has named the entire port after this tailor, with the name “Tailor’s Port.” This historical landmarks can only be visited by boat although it can be seen from the port as well.
